Principal's Welcome

Jon Bosworth, PrincipalWelcome to Richland Center High School

Richland Center High School (RCHS) is exceptional because of our people. Our students (in grades 7-12) are all gifted in their own unique ways. Our staff has talents and experience that provides amazing learning experiences for our students. My job is easy every day because of the people I have the opportunity to lead.

RCHS is a comprehensive high school and the academic success of our students is our top priority. We require the state mandated credits and an additional 11 elective credits for a diploma. Students earn semester credits and grades are calculated on a 4.0 weighted scale. Our students attend classes that are based on an 8-period/day schedule. RCHS offers courses in Agriculture, Business, Computers, English, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Special Education, and Technical Education. We are proud to say that RCHS is certified as a Project Lead The Way Engineering school and we offer 11 Advanced Placement (AP) course opportunities to our students. We have been named to the 6th and 7th annual AP Honor Rolls. Along with all our other on-campus classes, students have opportunities to take classes for dual credit from colleges and technical schools.

Along with all our academic success, we also enjoy great success in our arts programs. Students in art classes, choir, band, and drama have a great venue to share their talents in these artistic pursuits. Another honor bestowed on our high school is being nationally recognized for our music program.

You have read about success in the academics and arts so far, so let me share one more "A" of RCHS - Athletics. We offer athletic opportunities in a wide variety of sports for our young men and women. Our current sports offerings include (in alphabetical order): Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Track, and Volleyball.

The final "A" at RCHS includes all of our offered activities and co-curriculars. Students can join clubs such as yearbook, computer club, key club, pep club, art club, and so many more. Students can also serve in leadership roles in such organizations as FFA and Student Council.

I am proud to lead our staff and students here at RCHS and we encourage you to support our students in all of their academic, artistic, and athletic ventures.

#Richland Pride and #HornetPride are truly alive at Richland Center High School.
